Since this project is in an initial stage of the identifying
calibrators for GMRT, we plan to do the following in the future:
- Since the observed list of sources was selected form the VLA
calibrator manual having certain selection criteria, we can further
extend these criteria to get more number of sources to observe for
identifying them as GMRT calibrators.
- One of the criteria for selection of the sources was that
they were good calibrators at 1420 MHz. We can select the sources
which are calibrators at 325 MHz for VLA and observe these sources
for GMRT at 235 MHz and 150 MHz to find their suitability as calibrators
in these frequencies.
- We could also get more number of sources from the catalogs of
other observatories of the world to identify them as GMRT calibrators.
- In the observation made for this project, we found that there
are a few sources which are not detectable at 235 MHz possibly due to
bad data problem or source problem. In future observations we would like
to repeat the observations of these sources for consistency check.
