Frequency Bands

While the VLA operates at the higher frequency bands ranging from 1.4 GHz to 50 GHz, there are few lower frequency bands such as 74 MHz and 327 MHz are also used. However due to RFI (radio frequency interference) there are only limited observations. The table 3.2 gives the frequency range of the operated frequency bands at VLA. The band name given for various frequency ranges follows the standard IEEE conventions.
