Please
follow the guideline given below. (email-dated
Date: Fri, 2 Aug 2019)
1.
Before the start of observations, say one/two hours, please check
all
the
files needed for making observations, including settings needed,
etc.
If these files are not available, please contact to the concerned
person.
2.
Check the disk space before starting the observation.
3.
Once the observation has begun, please check the parameters in the
lta
file,
TPA, source co-ordinates, etc. and make sure they are consistent
with
the inputs from the users.
4.
Mention all the details in the gtaclog during the observations;
avoid
filling
the gtaclog after completing the observations. Please make
the
gtaclog
as complete as possible. In addition, if there are issues
e.g.
wind, power-failure, etc., kindly do include these, mention of
the
problems, approximate amount of time lost, etc., as well in the
observations
gtaclog and make it as detailed as possible.
5.
Whensoever needed, please generate a call-sheet.
6.
Submit the gtaclog immediately after the observations.
Occasionally,
failure
of internet at the GMRT, kindly attend to all gtaclogs post
observations
and do the needful.
7.
When an error happens say with a test or GTAC observing run, pl. do
bring
it to someone's notice. This error could be of any nature, a
mistake
on our part, an error in the source-file or command-file
provided
by the user, etc. We should inform the user and take
corrective
measures, e.g., perform make-up observation, if needed.
8.
Strictly follow the scheduled time as shown in the GTAC schedule
for
all
GTAC/TEST/... observations. The user cannot ask for
additional
amount
of time than what is reflected in the GTAC schedule towards
his/her
test/GTAC project.
