The public outreach related activities that I have been involved in are:

  • GMRT Science Day: Each year the 28th of February and the following day are celebrated as the National Science Day all over India. The day marks the discovery of the Raman effect, for which C. V. Raman was awarded the Nobel prize in 1930. Not only, this is an opportunity for the general public to visit the impressive and photogenic GMRT, learn about it from the engineering staff and interact with the astronomers, it is also an opportunity for students in grades from primary all the way to engineering to showcase their projects. The GMRT Science Day celebration is among the largest of its kind in India. I contribute towards organizing and participating in this event and was formally a part of its organizing committee for the years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2023.
